Well, B.o.B. seems to have flown under the radar for the year of 2008, only being seen on that song with Rich Boy that was kind of “meh.” However he is back with his first official (I believe) video and I have to say it has an Andre 3000 feel to it. Which is a great thing. Could he be the next big thing?
19. Kid CuDi – Day and Night (Last Week #20)
Kid CuDi moves up one spot this week. I think that hip hop needs to do more of stuff like this. I mean, how long can rappers keep Rick Rossin it? HA! That’s comedy!
18. YUI – I’ll Be (Last Week #15)
It looks like YUI is about to spend her last week on the Countdown! Do you know she had a video on the Countdown every week in 2008 after March? Now THAT is dominance, people.
17. Young Jeezy featuring Nas – My President Is Black (New Entry)
Hell yeah! My president is Black and SO IS YOURS! I could do without the hook as it is trifling as hell but the song actually isn’t bad at all. Sounds like Young Jeezy is really putting in that work.
16. T.I. feat Rihanna – Live Your Life (Last Week #13, Five Weeks at #1)
Damn, this video is STILL HANGING ON! So I am excited to see the new T.I. reality show because….he will be in jail and all…
15. BACK-ON – flyaway (Last Week #18)
BACK-ON moves up a big three spots this week as they celebrate their return to the Countdown. It seems like ABS is back…which means that rock is about to be IN YOUR FACE!
14. Jesse McCartney – It’s Over (Last Week #16)
So Jesse McCartney is moving on up this week. It has been a while since we have seen straight up male pop on the Countdown. Not since J-Tim I believe. Speaking of J-Tim…WHERE YOU AT, DAWG?!
13. Halcali – LONG KISS GOODBYE (Last Week #10)
NEW HALCALI VIDEO! Just downloaded it and man have these young ladies grown up! I am so proud…and they are so hot. Damn it, get the van!
12. Game feat Ne-Yo – Camera Phone (Last Week #12)
Game stands pat at number twelve this week as we move on. Could he be stalling out? It looks like rap is making a comeback in 2009, though. That is refreshing.
11. Paramore – Decode (Last Week #7)
Paramore falls from the Top Ten this week and I have to say this is a group that really grew on me in 2008. Aside from Chris Brown and Seamo, no one changed my opinion of them more than Paramore. That and Hayley makes me smile.
10. NERD – Sooner or Later – Away (Last Week #11)
NERD moves into the Top Ten once again! This video still so fits the song and even though the song wasn’t written about the bailout, it TOTALLY FRICKING FITS! You f-d up, dickweeds.
9. YA-KYIM respects SEAMO - SA IKOU! (Last Week #14) [Biggest Mover]
Well what do you know? More YA-KYIM for your asses! They bring along Seamo as he gets his first Top Ten video with a video that makes me love Yurie more every time I watch it. Oh, and they have two videos in the Top Ten, the first artist to do that since T.I. last year. Nice work!
8. BoA – Eat You Up [Korean Version] (Last Week #5, Four Weeks at #1)
BoA falls from the Top Five for the first time in two months this week. Okay, I needs me some more BoA and right the hell now. I am so seriously right now.
7. Kanye West – Heartless (Last Week #9)
So Kanye is slowly and surely moving his way up the Countdown this week. He bounces up two more spaces as it looks like “808’s & Heartbreak” could end up being the Album of the Year on Sunday. Or could it?
6. Joe Inoue – Closer (Last Week #8)
Wow, a Naruto theme up this high? Who knew?! Either way, Joe Inoue has moved up two spots this week and they are looking at maybe even hanging with the big boys. Pretty good for their first time out!
5. Ikimonogakari – Kimagure Romanteikku (Last Week #4)
Ikimonogakari falls one spot this week but stays in the Top Five. This song really pepped up my day the other day when I was feeling down. It just has that effect on me. Such fun it is!
4. RSP with DA BUBBLE GUM BROTHERS – LA.LA.LA LOVE SONG (Last Week #6)
RSP x BGB move one step closer to the mountain top! The jump into the Top Five this week and look to be going strong! Although, I was surprised the BGB were still alive. I mean they were around with shelltoes and bomber jackets. Or not, I dunno. I zone in and out. We are down to three!
3. Nana Mizuki – TRICKSTER (Last Week #2)
Nana Mizuki has a new video out! Despite that, she falls one spot to the bronze podium this week with this video. Can I just say that I love her fricking voice? I really do just think it is highly awesome.
2. Aqua Timez - Velonica (Last Week # 4)
Aqua Timez is one step away from their second number one video! So just when I think Bleach is going to get awesome…THEY GIVE US MORE FRICKING FILLER! I DIDN’T LIKE THE LAST ARC AND NEITHER DID ANYONE ELSE! If you are going to give us filler, give us some Kon fools! Anyway, with Aqua Timez as the runner up, we have the same number one again!
1.YA-KYIM respects KOME KOME CLUB – Kimi Ga Iru Dake De (Last Week #1, Two Weeks at #1)
Alisha, Yurie and Miku top the Countdown once again! For the second week the ladies of YA-KYM show why they are one of the stars of this Countdown. I loved the original of this song and the remake is bloody awesome. Congrats on another week!
