The Year Of 3000!

What is up, people! After an outage by Comcast stopped me from posting this YESTERDAY (A-holes!) I am back on the scene with the Friday staple….just a day late. It is time for….

Chachi’s Top 20 Video Countdown!!

We start off with the end of a J-Rock era…..

20. HIGH AND MIGHTY COLOR – Remember (New Entry)

HIGH AND MIGHTY COLOR IS BACK…..for the last time! This will be the final single and video from arguably one of the best new J-Rock bands to come along in a long time. The title is a fitting swan song and the video (Albeit hippiesque) brings everything full circle. Welcome back, HAMC. You will be missed.
19. Yui – Summer Song (Last Week #14, Plunge of the Week)
Looks like the Year of Yui has come to an end. Three number two videos is one of the best performances of the year despite the fact this video falls 5 huge spots this week. The announcement of the Chachi Video Awards nominees is Sunday so you better believe she will have a few nods!
18. Kumi Koda – Taboo (Last Week #20)
Kumi moves up a modest two spots this week as we move on. Well, it’s a lot more modest than her usual outfits…which are HAAAAAAWT!
17. T.I. – Whatever You Like (Last Week #13)
“Paper Trail” is out! Go pick it up now! I gotta grab my copy this weekend (My bad, Clifford, been looking for some good work so aint had time to support the King yet) and just know this: it is well worth it IMHO.
16. Wonder Girls - Nobody (Last Week #19)
The Wonder Girls are back! Can I just say that this song is a little bit too catchy for its own damn good? I mean seriously, this song is stuck in my head like that damn FreeCreditReport.com song. But a lot more awesome.
15. Hyori Lee – U-Go-Girl (Last Week #12)

Miss Hyori is still hanging on with this one. She is definitely nominated for a few Chachi Awards this year because of this video is damn hot. Also, the album isn’t too shabby, either. 2008 is the year of K-Pop!
14. Yuna Ito – Miss You (Last Week #17)
Miss Yuna moves up three big spots this week in her return to the Countdown. She usually comes around every few months or so and steals my heart but you know what? That’s what my baby does.
13. Bennie K feat SOFFet – Music Traveler (Last Week #9)
After peaking just inside of the Top Ten, Bennie K falls four spots this week. This video really didn’t catch me and the song just really isn’t as good as “Monochrome” but few things are.
12. Alicia Keys - Superwoman (Last Week #15)

As we move toward the Top 10 we see arguably the most successful female artist of 2008. With two Top Ten videos including a number one video in January of this year, she is putting her name in there with Yui for the Queen of the Countdown.
11. Young Jeezy feat Kanye West – Put On (Last Week #8, Three Weeks at #1)
After dominating the Countdown for almost a month, Young Jeezy and Kanye fall from the Top 10 for the first time since this summer. Been a big year for Jeezy and surprisingly so. I have to say….WTF, JEEZY WAS KILLING IT IN 2008! Onto the Top 10!
10. Maroon 5 – Goodnight, Goodnight (Last Week #10)
Maroon 5 stands pat at number ten this week as we enter the upper half. Been a slow year for these guys aside from that annoying song with Rihanna but even still, it’s the Five. Love this band, peeps. Love this band.
9. Hyori Lee – Hey Mr. Big! (Last Week #11)
Well, The Princess is back in the Top 10! Needless to say, that didn’t take long. Also, can I say her dancing has stepped up a great deal since the “Dark Angel” days? She used to be like….well, Britney Spears and I never really thought she was the next Janet. I mean “Control” Janet not the Janet we see with the midget.
8. T.I. – What Up, What’s Happening (Last Week #16, Biggest Mover)

The King is back in the Top 10! TI moves up a HUGE eight spots this week with his newest video. This is a diss song that rates up there with the “Hit Em Up” crowd. Not that Shawty Lo is a viable opponent but you have to beat who is on your schedule as Lee Corso would say.
7. Game feat. Lil Wayne – My Life (Last Week #5)
As we move on up, we see Game & Lil Wayne fall two spots this week. This song just doesn’t do it for me anymore and Lil Wayne officially needs to sit the hell down for a while. I saw him in a Wachovia commercial yesterday. Sad.
6. NERD feat Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco & Pusha-T – Everybody Nose (Remix) (Last Week #4)
Looks like the CRS album may or may not be out at some undisclosed time in the next seven years according to all three members. I hate you guys. Because of that, you fall from the Top Five. Don’t mess with me!
5. UVERworld – Koishikute (Last Week #7)

UVERworld is back in the Top Five! It has been over a year and a half since UVERworld was up this high but man…I loves me a good ballad.
4. FLOW – WORLD END (Last Week #2)
After peaking at number two last week, FLOW falls back two spots this week and out of the Top Three. Looks like rock is back in 2008 but it has been a tad overshadowed by the return of hip hop. Oh, HIP HOP HONORS ON MONDAY! DON’T MISS IT! And we are also down to three!
3. Hearts Grow – Sora (Last Week #6)

Hearts Grow is back! After a long hiatus this kick ass song is in the Top Three! Can I just say I love this song and although the video is just like their last three it is totally fricking sweet? I just did so there.
2. Fonzworth Bentley feat Andre 3000 & Kanye West – Everybody [Don’t Stop] (Last Week #1, Two Weeks at #1)

After two weeks on top, Fonzworth Bentley and the crew fall from their throne! Andre 3000 looks to be having a huge year….without releasing a damn album. The dude doesn’t need to, though. I wonder how Fonzworth is going to follow this up. We are down to one, and it may be a bit familiar…
1. John Legend feat Andre 3000 – Green Light (Last Week #3, One Week at #1)

Yes, you know it! After over a year of being held back, John Legend is back at number one! This marks his fourth number one video, tying him with Kanye West (Although he only has one solo number one video) for the most number one videos ever with four. The Chachi Award nominees are up; you think he may take one home? You damn right! Congrats John and welcome back Three Stacks!

Well, that is all for this week! Can John Legend make it two straight weeks? Or will Fonzworth and Co take the top back? Or can Hearts Grow finally get their first number one video? Tune in next FRIDAY to find out!

The Chachi Video Award nominees will be announced tomorrow! Stay tuned to that, it will be all that plus some! Until then, stay up peeps!
