I Told You I Would Do It! Now Who's Laughing?!

Happy New Year’s Eve, peeps! I hope you go out and have a blast! I think I am going to head up to Denver (Gotta think fast, the game will be over soon and I so want to beat that traffic) but I may just hang out here downtown or something. Be safe, peeps.

I know I talked about doing a Top 100 songs of 2006. Well, I shall stand and deliver peeps! It took a minute (actually about an hour or so) but it is finished! I bring to you….

Chachi’s Top 100 Videos of 2006 Countdown!!

Yes, I know. It was a daunting task but I finished it! Well, let’s get this party started right at Number 100!

100. Cobra Starship – Snakes On A Plane (Bring It On)

Yeah, I liked ‘Snakes on a Plane’ and this song was at the end of it. That and the beginning of the song has the quote of the year.
99. Three Days Grace – Animal I Have Become
98. Teriyaki Boyz – Tokyo Drift (Fast And Furious)
97. Trey Songz – Gotta Go
96. Sean Paul – Tempurature
95. Talib Kweli – Listen!
94. Jack Johnson – Upside Down
You know, I don’t have anything AGAINST Jack Johnson. My old boss used to like his stuff and this song was good. Too bad it was from the ‘Curious George’ movie…
93. Ken Hirai – Bye My Melody
92. Nas – Hip Hop Is Dead
91. Ayumi Hamasaki – Blue Bird
90. Kumi Koda – Twinkle
89. Dem Franchise Boyz – Lean With It, Rock Wit It
88. HIM – Wings of a Butterfly
87. Hikaru Utada – Keep Tryin’.
86. Staind – Everything Changes
85. Jessica Simpson – A Public Affair

YES! I don’t care what anyone says, this song is AWESOME! The video I could do without because I don’t think she is all that, but even still. Roller boogie is where it is at.
84. Bennie K feat Blaise Planet – Endless Summer
83. Omarion – Ice Box
82. Chamillionare feat. Krazie Bone – Ridin’
81. Christina Milian feat. Young Jeezy – Say I
80. Orange Range – UnRockstar
79. Panic At The Disco – I Write Sins, Not Tragedies
78. Sowelu – Dear Friend
77. Kanye West feat. Paul Wall, GLC and T.I. – Drive Slow (Remix)
76. Young Jeezy – I Love It
75. Pussycat Dolls feat Snoop Dogg – Buttons
74. Soul’d Out – Alive (Holdover from 2005)
73. Daddy Yankee – Rompe
72. Chieko Kawabe - Sakura Kiss (Ouran High School Host Club Opening Theme)
71. Hyori Lee – Get Ya!

Hyori Lee is fine. She needs to eat a sandwich (and is no BoA by any means) but she is still quite nice. Also, this song doesn’t sound like ‘Do Something’ as much as they say. That song SUCKED IT HARD. Oh, and the video was quite nice to boot.
70. Ne-Yo – So Sick
69. Rhianna – Unfaithful
68. Southern All-Stars – Dirty Old Man
67. Bowling For Soup – High School Never Ends
66. Orange Range – Champione
65. Diddy feat Nicole Scherzinger– Come To Me
64. Dixie Chicks – Not Ready To Make Nice
63. Soulhead feat Kumi Koda – X.X.X
62. Lupe Fiasco – Kick Push
61. Saving Jane – Come Down To Me
Okay, this song is special to me because it reminds me of my feelings to a certain person. Odds are if you think its you, that it IS NOT YOU. I kind of like Saving Jane. ‘Girl Next Door’ was rather catchy.
60. Young Dro – Rubber Band Banks
59. Yui – Rolling Star
58. 30 Seconds to Mars – The Kill
57. Cassie – Me And U
56. D-51 – Brand New World
55. Pushim, RHYMESTER, HOME MADE KAZOKU, MABOROSHI, May J – I Say Yeah
54. BoA – Brand New Beat
53. Exile & Kumi Koda – Won’t Be Long
52. May J – Here We Go

Yes. Oh god yes. I have a feeling that 2007 will be May J’s year. Her dancing leaves something to be desired (They ALL can’t be Kumi Koda) but the video was still bad ass. Did I mention she is HAWT? If I didn’t, she is.
51. HIGH AND MIGHTY COLOR – Enrai ~Tooku ni aru Akari~
50. Jay – Show Me What You Got
49. James Blunt – Beautiful
48. The Game – Let’s Ride
47. Gnarles Barkley – Crazy
46. Bi (Rain) – Move On
45. Bennie K – Rensou Game/Namie Amuro – CAN’T SLEEP, CAN’T EAT, I’M SICK
44. Younha – Houki Boshi

One of many songs from ‘Bleach’ to make it on this year. She reminds me a lot of Vanessa Carlton, except Korean. That was news to me until I saw how her name was written on her album. As we all know, I am scared of Koreans. Malibu’s Most Wanted joke….eh, fuck it.
43. RBD – Tu Amor
42. Rie Fu – I Wanna Go To A Place…
41. Sakai Kanako – Cheer! (REC Opening Theme)
40. Se7en – I Wanna…
39. Soul’d Out – Starlight Destiny
38. Nelly Furtado – Say It Right
37. JoJo – Too Little, Too Late
36. Bi (Rain) feat. Tabo – I’m Coming

Here is a guarantee: Bi will be the artist of the year next year unless T.I. does something massive. He has an English album coming and has a song with Omarion that WILL (hell yeah, that is a threat) have the greatest video created by man accompanying it. Mark it down, peeps.
35. Beyonce feat. Slimm Thug – Check On It
34. All American Rejects – Move Along
33. RBD – Ser O Parecer
32. Big Boi feat Scar & Sleepy Brown – Morris Brown
31. BoA – Key Of Heart
30. The Game – One Blood (It’s Okay)
29. Ciara feat. Chamillionare – Get Up
28. Justin Timberlake feat. T.I. – My Love (Peaked at #2)
27. Crystal Kay – Kirakuni (Peaked at #2)

This gem slipped under the radar. Crystal Kay reminds me of a less annoying Beyonce. She can dance, has the best voice bar none of her Japanese competition (yes, I know she is mixed) and the video for this song shows her hotness. Hell yes.
26. Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland– Promiscuous
25. Evanscence – Call Me When You’re Sober (Peaked at #2)
24. Bennie K – Joy Trip (#1 for one week)
23. Young Dro feat. T.I. – Shoulder Lean (Peaked at #2)
22. Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgen – Breaking Free (Peaked at #2)
21. Rascal Flatts – What Hurts The Most (#1 for one week)
20. Nelly Furtado – Maneater (Peaked at #2)
19. Kumi Koda – Juicy (Peaked at #2)
18. John Legend – Heaven (#1 for one week, current #1)
17. Bi (Rain) – Freeway (Peaked at #2)
16. Sleepy Brown feat. Big Boi & Pharrell – Margaritas (#1 for one week)
15. Takacha – Movin! (#1 for one week)
14. Justin Timberlake – SexyBack (#1 for one week)
13. Beat Crusaders – Tonight, Tonight, Tonight (#1 for one week)
12. Halcali – Tip Taps (#1 for two weeks, holdover from 2005)
11. A.I. – What’s Going On (#1 for three weeks)
10. Flow – Re:member (#1 for two weeks)

We have cracked the Top Ten, peeps! Alright, alright. I know I have insulted Naruto a lot over the last 18 months. Even still, Flow kicks ass. This song was what got me back into watching the show, and the video (although I was just able to download it because Bittorent pisses me off) is funny as hell.
9. Daniel Powter – Bad Day (#1 for three weeks)

Alright, I am sure to hear shit for this one. For the month of May, this was my favorite song because it got me through some things. Yes, I was being a little bitch then but this song helped.
8. UVERworld – Shamrock (#1 for three weeks, Non-consecutive)

Don’t have to explain this one. As soon as I heard this song in August it was ON. The video was cool, the song was awesome and you all know I dig The ‘World. This was also the first official #1 song on the countdown in September. Good stuff.
7. Mary J. Blige – Be Without You (#1 for 3 weeks)

So after a LONG distain for MJB, she finally got me over to her side. This song ALSO got me through some shit. The video had Terrance Howard (who was EVERYWHERE in 2005) and the album was actually pretty good. Her best work in my opinion.
6. UVERworld – Kimi no Suki na Uta (#1 for four weeks)

Yeah, UVERworld occupies another slot in the Top Ten of 2006. This song I liked a tad bit better than Shamrock, mainly because I like ballads and violins rule. Also, the video had a Mr. Big feel to it. Heh, when was the last time you heard THAT? Anyway, great video and great year.
5. M-Flo loves Emi Hinouchi and Ryohei – Summer Time Love (#1 for three weeks)

Okay, this comes as a shock to those that don’t know me. However, if you had to share a car with me this summer, like it or not this song was on. LOUD. This is a summertime jam if there ever was one. Therefore, it cracks the Top Five of 2006. M-Flo had a quiet year compared to 2005, but he still laid it down, just look at May J and Bonnie Pink. Good stuff, give it a listen. Oh, and DJ Taku has booty turntables. Priceless.
4. Shakira feat Wyclef – Hips Don’t Lie (#1 for five weeks)

Yeah, this song is on EVERYONE’S year end and mine is no different. This song was okay (until it was played in Hamburger Helper commercials) and the video was…well…lets just say that her hips don’t lie. I likes them a lot. Is niiiice.
3. John Legend – Save Room (#1 for five weeks)

WHAT?! Number three?! Not number one?! Yes, John Legend had a great year and this video was dominant, but there are two songs that had bigger years before this video came out. Even still ‘Save Room’ is may favorite R&B song in a while and his album may have been the best of the year. Now, it is time for the Final Two….
2. UVERworld – Chance (#1 for five weeks)

I remember when I downloaded this song. I heard about it on a video game board that was talking about the Bleach PSP game and I gave it a listen and since then I have been all about it. Then I saw the video and like Z said wanted to put UVERworld stickers on everything.
1. T.I. – What You Know (#1 for eight weeks)

Could it be anyone else? T.I’s King is not only one of the biggest selling albums of the year, this song is one of the best singles. The video was rather by the numbers, but it had Mike Epps so it couldn’t be that bad. I will be the first to say I don’t like rap all that much but this is one of the few albums I bought and felt it was worth the investment. Even still, T.I. had a huge 2006.

Well, that is all for now peeps! I want to thank you for an awesome year on the blog. I want to thank you for reading and hopefully next year I will double the readers! Which means 10 or so. Even still, that is better than none. Have a safe and happy New Year’s Eve! I will try to be back tomorrow and have the finalized Chachi’s up. See, told you I haven’t forgotten about it!

Live, Laugh, Learn and Love. And celebrate!!
